Undergraduate Admission Requirements by Country
Lakehead University welcomes applicants from all across the world.
To be considered for admission to Lakehead University, please refer to the country in which you completed your secondary school studies or the type of education you received internationally for the admission requirements. Secondary Vocational/Technical credentials and streams do not meet minimum admission requirements.
In addition to the curriculum-specific requirements you must also meet all program-specific requirements. You should verify that your senior secondary subjects include the required prerequisite courses for your program of choice.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Program |
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Some of our competitive programs may require a total score greater than 24. Prerequisite courses may be presented at either the Standard Level or Higher Level excluding the following: For programs requiring Ontario's MHF4U - Advanced Functions (All Honours Science programs and Bachelor of Engineering), applicants must present one of the following courses:
Applicants who have completed certain Higher Level (HL) subjects with a score of five (5) or better as part of their IB Diploma Programme (DP) may be considered for advanced standing. |

To be considered for admission from the French-Patterned Education system, applicants must:
You will be considered for admission on your 'bulletins' for Premiere & Terminale, or if already completed, on your final Baccalaureat results. French Patterned Education regions include: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, France, French Guiana, Gabon, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Senegal, Togo, and Tunisia. |

Applicants will be considered for admission provided they submit either:
For programs requiring Ontario's MHF4U - Advanced Functions (All Honours Science programs, and Bachelor of Engineering), applicants must present Further Mathematics/Math (Elect). The certificate and results submitted must be issued directly from WAEC, or applicants may submit the PIN from a Scratch Card so that our Admissions Office can verify the WAEC results are reported by the applicants Senior Secondary School.
